GOSNOLD — Selectboard approves cemetery survey, eyes emergency boat acquisition. The board unanimously backed a $3,600 Vineyard Land Surveying & Engineering proposal to stake and survey 12 cemetery plot corners, slightly exceeding the available $3,000 budget. In a major initiative, the board expressed interest in purchasing a 34-foot aluminum rescue boat from Mass Maritime for an estimated $250,000, with Senator Cyr offering $100,000 in initial state funding.
Town Manager John Laverty reported the Porter Sidewalk Repair project at $130,000, partly covered by a $51,000 Seasonal Grant, and new compactors arriving mid-March. The board also received a $100,000 MVP 2.0 Grant for Municipal Vulnerability Plan updates and committed $17,000 in in-kind support to an MRECo cost-sharing project.
